The strategic vision and development approach for the Broadway Corridor includes an emphasis on authentic and inclusive public involvement and on equitable distribution of public benefits and outcomes.
Robust community engagement efforts started with the selection of a Steering Committee, which is composed of 41 leading community members. The Steering Committee will guide, direct and support efforts to solicit development partner(s), prepare a master plan for future development, improve community relations, and define required public benefits.
We Want to Hear From You
Robust community engagement opportunities will be available throughout the preparation of a master plan and definition of required public benefits for the Broadway Corridor, including public open houses.

On the site of the historic flood, the festival intends to transform Portland Meadows into a cultural revival, welcoming nationally renowned artists and breathing new life into Portland jazz.
The Pan African Festival celebrates the presence, resilience, strength and influence of Pan Africans (Africans, Caribbean and African Americans) in Oregon.

Join us for the 2018 Jade International Night Market, hosted by Portland Community College Southeast Campus! Portland’s multicultural communities come out in full force each August to celebrate one of East Portland’s biggest events. Last year the night market drew nearly 20,000 people to support small businesses, community organizations, and cultural groups.
El Grito Fiestas Patrias celebrates the independence of Mexico and other Latin American countries from Spain. As the Mexican President presents the nation’s traditional El Grito in Mexico City, so too will Portland commemorate Mexico’s independence at the Rose Quarter Commons.
Entry is free for all and the celebration begins at 11 a.m. and continues until 11 p.m. In addition to folkloric and Aztec dancers, live mariachi, salsa, cumbia, and pop music, there will also be traditional food and beverages, community booths with interactive and educational materials, and the Mexican tradition known as El Grito de Independencia.
